The Ryerson Estate features an 8,000 square-foot manor house situated on 39 acres of both wooded and open lands, with spectacular views of beautiful Otsego Lake and surrounding hills. Bordered by nestling trees, a meandering stream, and expansive farmlands, the estate offers serene, tranquil privacy and easy, convenient access to Cooperstown.

The manor house, built in 1900, has twelve bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, two kitchens, seven fireplaces, and beautiful dining and living areas with original moldings and woodwork. Additional buildings discreetly located on the property include the caretaker’s house, an assembly hall, a pavilion, nine cabins, and an oversized two-bay garage. An Olympic-sized pool, tennis court, basketball court, baseball field, nature trails and the stream make this property a dream come true for recreation- and nature-lovers. The Town of Springfield provides residents with nearby access to Otsego Lake.

While the Ryerson has served as a wonderful private residence, it is an ideal property for commercial use such as a corporate conference center, bed and breakfast, resort spa, retreat or wellness center, or therapeutic rehabilitation center.

Given its age and location, a rehabilitation of the manor house is potentially eligible for both the Federal and New York State historic tax credit program. This means that 40% of rehabilitation expenditures could be recouped in income tax credits.
